IEEE 802.11
A set of standards for wireless local area network (WLAN) computer communication in the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz public spectrum bands.
Access Point (AP)
Wireless base station which coordinates communication for wireless clients between each other and with the wired network.
Wireless LAN (WLAN)
One or more access points and their associated clients which communicate by radio to form a data network.
Wireless Distribution System (WDS)
Method for linking many wireless access points to form a mesh-like network.
Wireless Bridge
A pair of access points confi gured in bridge mode allowing two wired networks to be transparently connected through wireless link.
Line of Sight (LoS)
A clear, straight line path between wireless devices which is in no way obstructed by buildings or trees.
